Do you constantly sprain your ankles?

I see so many athletes who “do” their ankles on a regular basis.  It is so frustrating because a lot of the time, they will see someone to help them rehabilitate but then they stop all their “rehabilitation” as soon as they start playing again!

What most people do not realise is that exercise is medicine and a vaccine all in one for a lot of conditions.  Two main injuries I see on a consistent basis are ACL injuries (Knee) and Ankle Sprains.  We know from experience and after reading a plethora of research that doing some basic single leg balance and movement based exercises can help prevent both of these injuries.

This post is targeted towards ankle injuries, where Nadine Stewart, Physiotherapist at Vector Health has compiled a short video on the types of exercises you can do if you have an ankle that keeps rolling, or you want to try to prevent ankle injuries especially.

So, if you are a parent, coach or athlete please watch the video and pick a few of the exercises and incorporate them into your daily routines, in exercise or in warm up to help prevent ankle sprains.

If you have any questions, or want to come and talk to Nadine, who is very knowledgable especially when it comes to ankle injuries, you can book an appointment by calling 4927 8190 or emailing reception@vectorhealth.stagingarea.net or messaging Vector Health on Facebook.

Please follow us on Facebook as we regularly post education about different conditions. We encourage your questions and comments to help us direct our education to areas where people want to know more about.
