Lachlan Maher

Exercise Physiologist

Professional History:

Hello, my name is Lachy, and I am one of the Exercise Physiologists here at Vector Health & Performance. I started my journey as an Allied Health Professional here at VHP early 2022, where I have grown and developed both as a person and a clinician.

Since graduating from university where I gained over 400 hours of practical experience, I have continued to expand my knowledge and experience working with a wide range of people. I find myself drawn to helping those with Cardiovascular and Pulmonary conditions due to my enjoyment and knowledge for the heart and lungs; however, I work with a diverse range of pathologies and clinical presentations. Working here at VHP, I have found myself often working with people presenting with Musculoskeletal injuries, Mental Health, Metabolic and Neurological conditions, general health and weight loss populations, and children with Disabilities such as ASD.

Before moving away from Brisbane, I previously worked with children and teenagers in a sporting context, where I ran and assisted in running fitness sessions including holiday programs specifically for Tennis and AFL whilst studying my degree at university.

Interests within and outside of work:

I love being around the VHP team. Everyone holds different skills and interests that allows us all to learn from one another and keep up to date with evidence-based-practices. I would label the Cardio-Respiratory system as my interest.

Outside of work, if I’m not at home relaxing or socialising with friends and family, I am probably out running or riding, playing AFL or Cricket, or out exploring the world. I recently completed the Mooloolaba Sprint Triathlon in March 2022 which is a great recent achievement of mine.
