About me
I am a former elite swimmer representing Sri Lanka internationally since the age of 11. My career highlights include competing at the 2017 Swimming World Championships in Budapest, winning 5 South Asian Games medals, and setting Sri Lankan national records in the women’s 800m and 1500m freestyle. My passion for the fitness industry combined with my experience in professional competition is what inspired my journey of becoming a sports performance coach with a vision of working alongside athletes.
In 2018, I completed a Level 5 International Higher Diploma in Sports Science and Coaching in Sri Lanka, which provided insight into working with developing athletes. Wanting to develop my skills I decided to move to Rockhampton in 2019 to pursue my bachelor’s degree in Exercise and Sports Science.
Over the last couple of years, I’ve gained practical experience in various roles, which includes personal training, yoga, swimming coaching, hydrotherapy, rehabilitation, and more. Currently, I work with Vector Health, where I focus on improving performance through biomechanics, physiology, psychology, and injury prevention. I am dedicated to helping my clients reach their full athletic potential and achieve their personal goals.
Fun fact about me…
I’ve recently transitioned into open-water swimming focusing on training to compete at longer-distance events. This year, my goal is to complete the 21km Keppel Island Swim, with future aspirations to prepare for the Triple Crown Open Water Marathon Swim, which includes a 34km swimming event!
